Portonovi Baazar – three-day festival celebrating the culture and tradition of Boka Bay with charity character
A three-day fundraising festival celebrating the culture and tradition of Boka Bay is being hosted this weekend at waterfront village, Portonovi.
Portonovi Bazaar will bring together local winemakers, patisseries, farmers, jewellers, craftsman and specialists in wellness and beauty with the proceeds from products sold going to the Health Department of Herceg Novi.
Visitors will be able to purchase a variety of local produce including honey, olives, prosciutto, olive oil, wine, pastries, handmade jewelry, soaps, lavender and essential oils. There will also be entertainment throughout the day with local musicians – klapas and artists performing as well as majorette dancers.
“The last year has reminded all of us how vital a role healthcare professional play in our society particularly saving lives,” says Rashad Aliyev, CEO of Azmont Investments. “We want to say thank you and provide much needed financial support for the Health Department of Herceg Novi so that they can continue to provide patients with care.”
Portonovi will be split into four quarters during the festival, with a children’s exhibition in Hillside Park, here there will be a gallery under the open sky.
Vista Street will be home to local craftsmen selling candles, soaps and jewellery, while Boka Street in Village Area will be a hub for food and beverages. Those wanting fresh catches from the sea can visit the Fish Market hosted in Marina Square.
“We have called the festival Portonovi Bazaar, as it will have a vibrancy and energy that many people will be familiar with,” says Aliyev. “Independence Day is a time of reflection, when we appreciate our culture and traditions whilst looking towards the future. We hope that the local community and businesses, big and small, join us this weekend to celebrate the best of Montenegro.”
Portonovi Bazaar takes place Friday 21st May to Sunday 23rd May, 10:00 – 20:00.
